Southern Water has gone out to tender with an AMP6 contract for a wide range of pumps and services, including supply, repair, maintenance and hire, worth £100 million or more.
Duration of the framework agreement is initially 5 years for 2015-20 with a further 5 year AMP7 extension option.
Estimated total value of purchases is put at between £80 million to £100 million – the total value of each separately listed individual Lot comes to £118 million.
The water company is looking to appoint 1 or more suppliers to the framework agreement for the supply of pumps, pump repair services and pump hire. The scope of the contract include:
Supply of pumping solutions including submersible mixers and spares for the pumping of water, waste-water, high solid volume liquids (e.g. Grit and Sludge) and dosing;
A complete service for pump repair from device un-installation, through transportation, strip and inspection, repair, re-installation and re-commissioning.
The repair service will also include other pumping associated equipment such as motors, gearboxes and electrical panels as well as providing legacy and non-OEM spares.
In addition, the provision for the repair of other non-pumping equipment, i.e. Motor/Gearbox drives will be included. Southern Water is also seeking to suppliers for pump hire services to provide pumping solutions for pumps which are out on maintenance, support site repair and maintenance work and to provide emergency and temporary pumping solutions.
The contract is divided into the following Lots, with the indicative value for each during the 2015-20 AMP6 period:
Lot 1 — Supply of submersible pumps (Wet well / Dry well), mixers, ancillaries and spares (£15m to £30m)
Lot 2 — Supply of end suction, vertical multi-stage pumps, ancillaries and spares (£4m to £8m)
Lot 3 — Supply of borehole pumps, ancillaries and spares (£1m to £4m)
Lot 4 — Supply of progressive cavity pumps, macerators and spares (£2m to £6m)
Lot 5 — Pump and other plant repair services including Supply of Legacy and Non-OEM Spares (£40m to £55m)
Lot 6 — Hire of pumping solutions (£5m to £15m)
The procurement process will be managed through an online sourcing portal - all interested suppliers must first register via the portal to submit an expression of interest.
Although the requirement in the tender with regard to the time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate currently specifies 2 separate dates in the contract for 31st July and 7th August, Waterbriefing has now had confirmation that the deadline for receipt of PQQ responses is 7th August at 12:00 BST - PQQ responses will then be opened on 7th August at 15:00 BST.
